berry delish

that's one fine looking strawberry & raspberry tart, from b bakery on bussorah street. it's got the most amazing meringue and juicy berries inside and tastes absolutely divine.

the next day (tuesday of this week), i ventured into the same place again for lunch since i was in the area doing a project with my groupmates. and this is what transpired: a chicken sandwich with rocket salad, and an apple, sage and lemon cheesecake.

both lovely too. in fact, the food there is very affordable. i mean, this place doesn't even have service charge plus they keep on refilling your ice water! that's my kinda place.

the tea party

cold rainy days outdoors = squelchy sandals + soggy jeans = grouchy me
thankfully, fly came by after i was done giving tuition and we went to the tea party at sixth ave.
cosy atmosphere, with nice comfy couches to boot.
perfect for heart-to-hearts.
i'd ceylon tea and scones with cream cheese, he'd watermelon iced tea.
yummers. we stayed for quite awhile just talking and taking photos, and i left with my heart lighter, happier and warmer.

saw a record number of four-wheeled eye candy along sixth ave too - mercs, beemers, porsches and mini coopers. plus a cute schnauzer when i went to buy pesto ciabatta from simply bread. on the way home...we saw this ginormous monster truck.

and then, home at last. i'm starting to feel a whole lot better.

flu blues

it's friday night and i'm sitting at home rueing missed chances
(like dinner with genny and attica at midnight with the frenchie)
watching never been kissed while eating dinner and feeling quite like josie grossie
in my sniffly woozy state, surrounded by wads of tissue paper
so much work to be done that i do not feel like starting
but right now my cranium's clogged up and i've been feverish for like 2 days
je suis triste, indeed.

ladies night

last night was totally crazy, but much fun and much needed. mel & i hit suba, MoS, the butter factory & zouk - plus we walked the whole way too! haven't seen her this high and this nutso but losing your inhibitions once in awhile is good. a bit of a letdown in terms of music and crowd (too old at suba, too young at the butter factory) but the company more than made up for it.

MoS washroom...where many other gals were primping and taking photos

and today we wake up with colds and sore throats. utter blahness and an absolute waste of a day. i guess this calls for an early night. my midterm break has been packed with project meetings, giving tuition and catching up with friends. sighhh. but of course, anything's better than having to go to school. (thursday 28/9)

picking up the pieces...

and getting back into the groove of blogging.

And this is my beautiful life
The only thing certain is everything changes
Lows and the highs
And all those goodbyes
As hard as it gets
I know it's still amazing
To be alive
It's a beautiful life
